Torah perspective
A captured Hamas document, written in April 2024, proposed planting explosives around camps for displaced civilians and detonating them as Israeli troops approached, so that panic would cover the escape of operatives. The Torah's word for such a calculation is *ormah*, cunning, and it names the precise inversion at work: a people's own shelter turned into the fuse meant to save its killers. What the document reveals is not only cruelty but a theology of the self. When a man decides that another's life is raw material for his own survival, he has already dismantled the image of God within himself. The camps were never the target. They were the mirror.
