Torah perspective
The podcast was meant to be about politics, and it turned into a conversation about the sacred. That pivot is itself the teaching. The Talmud records that Rabbi Yochanan would call his garments his honorers, and the Chassidic reading is that a person's outer trappings serve the inner light, not the reverse. When the news cycle pulls hard toward the profane, the question is not whether to engage but what holds the center. Yossi Klein Halevi's turn toward the sacred under election pressure is not escapism. It is the older Jewish instinct that equilibrium comes from a fixed point above the shifting ground. The election will pass. What steadies a person through it is what he carries into it.
